Frederick Street is central Edinburgh, walking distance from Princes Street and most transport. The venue opens at 7pm every night so you can make a full evening of it rather than just turning up at 11. If you're booking a Backstage table the deposit comes back as a drinks voucher when you arrive, so you're not actually paying anything extra. Book online and do it a few days in advance if you're going on a Friday or Saturday because the seated areas fill up and walk-in availability gets limited.

The live music makes the early part of the evening actually worth showing up for, the cocktails are good, and by the time the DJ's on the room's already warmed up properly.
